Janet Roberston selected 2007 Childcare Center Director of the year! Congratulation Janet!

Janet was born in Wichita, KS on May 29, 1951.  Her parents were part of a small group of families that came from First Church of God to start Pawnee Ave. Church of God in 1952.  Janet graduated from Friends University in 1973 with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology, a minor in Early Childhood Education, and a minor in Psychology.  She worked at SRS for 5 years in the financial aid department.  She then transferred to the social service department where she was an early childhood consultant and worked licensing all the child care centers and preschools in Sedgwick County.  She quit work to stay home with her children.  In 1990, she became part of a group to start the Bethlehem Maternity Home, a home for pregnant teens.  Bethlehem Maternity Home opened on Mother's Day of 1993.  Janet served on the Board of Directors and was a volunteer and mentor at the Home.  In 1995, she became the Administrator of the Home and remained in that position until the Home closed on September 30, 2006.  Janet worked at Corinthian Child Care Center through high school and college.  In the 1980's, she started the infant & toddler rooms at CCC.  In 2003, she became the Director.

Janet has been married to her husband Dean for 30 years.  They have four children, Shelly, Heather, Jeff, & Mandy.  They have one grandchild, Kaitlyn.  Dean is currently employed at Spirit Aerosystems.  Previously, he was employed at Boeing for 28 years.  Both Dean and Janet are very active in the Church.  Dean is currently serving on the Leadership Council and serves as the Christian Education Coordinator.  Dean sings in the Praise Team on Sunday mornings.  Both of them sing in the choir.
